Taken almost 15 years ago, on the the way to Río Caribe in Venezuela, this photograph captures a familiar journey toward the sea. Near the town where my grandmother was from, it holds memories of family trips, coastal roads, and fisherman-led crossings to the beach, sometimes Playa Medina.
